Shubham Dixit aka Sanjay, 28 and a resident of Jhansi, was arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police on Sunday, for allegedly setting a building on fire in Indore on Saturday.
The arson claimed lives of seven people, while it injured nine others. The motive of the perpetrator behind this crime was to get back at his ex-girlfriend, who decided to marry someone else.
According to the police station in-charge of Vijay Nagar, Indore, the man on late Friday night had an argument with her over money that he lent her when they were in a relationship, that soon turned bitter. After threatening her, he came to the parking lot, took out some petrol from a bike and then set the woman's scooty on fire.
The man then came later to the spot to see the results, but the fire had already spread to the building.
Shubham made an attempt to flee late night on Saturday but then it turned futile as he was caught by the Police. In the attempt, he injured his leg and his hand.
