Uttrakhand Govt. strict decision: No Mobile usage within 200 metres of Char Dham Temples

In a major step under reforms for yatras, the Uttarakhand Government has banned the use of mobile phones within a 200m radius within temple complexes of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. The decision was put forth in a meeting organized for Chardham Pilgrimage under chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Amidst the inability by the state management group to handle the temple chaos and confusion, the administration took the reforming step for banning the use of mobile phones and other electronic devices along with parking space for the vehicles unregistered for the yatra. State Chief secretary Radha Raturi specified the notifications with a warning to register for the yatra beforehand and check the registration details for parking space as well from the Uttarakhand tourism website. In addition, she emphasized on strict checking by authorities in such terms.

The chief secretary also promised to take stringent actions against those spreading fake news on various social media handles. Keeping the huge number of devotees flowing in, the administration has asserted safety and security of devotees as a priority. The internet soared with a tripling rate of 28,00,000 devotee registrations in the recent month.
