Tussle between authorities in Delhi over Power Subsidy
Power Minister Atishi accused
Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena of not clearing the while of power subsidy which led to ceased free electricity supply to the citizens of Delhi . She mentioned she is trying from past 24 hours to have a meeting with the LG but is getting no response.
She also mentioned that Vidhan Sabha has passed the budget for subsidy and AAP has allocated Rs. 3250 crore for the same but as the file has not been passed they can't spend on subsidy .
Soon , LG Saxena cleared the file and called all the allegations baseless and advised Atishi to refrain from unnecessary politicking . Saxena questioned the power minister that why the decision was kept pending till April 4 when the deadline was 15th of April and why file was sent to him on April 11.
However as the file has been cleared AAP government will continue to provide free electricity to consumers with monthly consumption of 200 units and those with consumption of 201 - 400 unit will get 50% subsidy .
