The Chandigarh Administration in its recent notice for the safety of passengers has made it mandatory for all public vehicles registered in Chandigarh to have Vehicle Location Tracking Device and Panic Buttons by March 31, 2023.
The vehicles that are included in this list are maxi cab, motor cab, buses. Two wheelers, e-rickshaws and three-wheelers are exempted from installing these devices.
All specified registered vehicles shall have to comply with requirements before March 31, 2023, and all Specified New Vehicles shall have to comply with the same at the time of registration of the vehicle.
This notice was released in compliance with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.
