Talent doesn't come with money. You are just born with it: Sanket Sargar proves it by winning silver

Weightlifter Sanket Sargar bags silver at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham on Saturday. He won it in the 55kg category with a total lift of 248kg, with Mohammed Aniq Bin from Malaysia winning gold with 249kg lift.

Sanket's father Mahadev Sargar runs a tea-stall in Sangli, Maharashtra, where he used to help his father daily, all the while balancing his studies and regular practice, before joining National Weightlifting Camp in Patiala last year.

Overwhelmed with Sanket's achievement, his father even took a break from his business for the first time to celebrate the occassion.

Sanket's sister Kajal also became the first Gold medallist in the 4th Khelo India youth games last month.

“When Kajal returned with the medal, we displayed the medal first at the tea-stall. That’s what has provided all the things for our family till date and Sanket’s medal too will be displayed on the tea-stall first,” Mahadev said.
