SDCS organised a talk cum discussion on 'Brain Drain: Where is the youth heading to?'

Sanatan Dharma College Samvaad Society of GGDSD College, Chandigarh organised its first event on Friday by holding a talk cum discussion on the topic 'Brain Drain: Where is the youth heading to?'

For this, talk cum discussion session Dr. Gian Singh, retired professor from Punjabi University, Patiala was invited as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Pardip Kumar, co-ordinator of the society, gave a welcome address for the event. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal and Dr. Madhu Sharma, Registrar, GGDSD College.

In the talk, Prof. Singh first briefed students about how the problem of Brain Drain is affecting the Indian economy and causing losses in terms of productive human capital to the nation. He also told students about various data pertaining to the problem of brain drain in India, specially with respect to the state of Punjab. 

Finally in the last part of the event, an interactive discussion session was held where questions were asked by students as well as faculty members pertaining to the topic from Prof. Singh and he briefly answered them.

Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal, GGDSD College also expressed views about the topic after the talk cum discussion session was over and gave his vote of thanks to the guest speaker. He also urged the club to hold more such interactive dialogues in future.

Later at the end of the event, the winners of the essay writing competition organised by Samvaad Society were also awarded.
