Sargam Koushal won the title of Mrs. World 2022 after defeating competitors from 63 nations, returning the trophy to India after a 21-year absence, at a ceremony held on Saturday night at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Mrs. Polynesia and Mrs. Canada were named as the first and second runners-up, respectively.
On Sunday, the Mrs. India pageant posted a message on its official Instagram page announcing the winner which read as, "The long wait is done; after 21 years, the CROWN is returned!"
"We’ve got the crown back after 21-22 years. I’m so excited. Love you India, love you world", the newly crowned Mrs. World, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir, said in a video following the ceremony. Aditi Govitrikar, the actor-model who brought the Mrs. India crown to India in 2001, also shared a congratulatory message.
