Chandigarh health department restrained by Court Of Civil Judge from removing the GMSH-16 chemist, recently a trial case regarding the lease of a chemist at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH)16 was running in the court.
The story dates back in 1993 when lease for the chemist shop was given to Sunil Kumar. After this till now date no new tender is executed and the lease of Sunil Kumar was extending again and again. It was done on the basis of a 2000 finance department notification,and in September health department of UT mentioned it was not for shops at health facilities.
So the department decided to terminate the lease after 29 years but the lease holder went to the court alleging the health secretary. Now after six weeks the court of civil judge Jaspreet Singh Minhas had put restraining orders on health department and said lease can be terminated only at the earlier specified time i.e till 2024.
