Transforming Panjab University: Focus on Better Facilities for Students' Education
Today a key meeting was held between the representatives of the Higher Education Department including the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann and administration of Panjab University, Chandigarh to mark a big step towards improving the infrastructure at the university. The agenda centered around the long awaited pending funding for the new hostels.
As per the officials of the Punjab Government, main discussion was the map of the hostels which were not provided earlier by the Panjab University administration. The grant has been sanctioned and all the written formalities has been done to issue 48.5 crore for the new hostels. Probably, work will begin from next month.
However, varsity officials denied saying, they didn't sanction any letter yet.
It has been very interesting to see that the in last elections student wing of AAP promised everyone to bring the grant for new hostels but the promise still remains pending. Whether the CYSS or the administration is responsible for the ongoing delays is still a matter of debate.
Stay tuned with PU Pulse for more updates.
