National Assessment and Accreditation council (NAAC) team has concluded its three days visit to the Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The NAAC team included seven members and VC of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Professor Rajesh Singh was the head of the visiting team. A complete evaluation report enclosed in an envelope was given to the University administration while the team was leaving. Whereas the score is expected to release next week.
Departmental evaluation including USOL, evening studies and music department was done on Friday. The third day was the best, and the total visit went well. According to the size of the institution, peer team members typically choose to visit all or half of the departments (with 25% picked at random by the PT and the other 25% chosen by HEI).
During the visit the department of English was given priority on the other languages departments by the NAAC team and University officials. It was anticipated that the faculty strength at the university, especially in these language departments, would have an impact on the university's overall grade. The NAAC visit took place after eight years. Panjab University has tried to put its best foot forward.
