Chandigarh being a developing city will now witness a growth in fuel stations as there will be a setup of 6 new stations in the city.
The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) are the oil companies which have already set up 48 petrol pumps.
However, now there will be an expansion in the oil field as well as in employment opportunities to the people of Chandigarh. According to senior officials, the HPCL company will open one outlet on the Vikas Marg, Dakshin Marg or the Purv Marg, and one each on a 23-foot-wide road (in Chandigarh), Mani Majra and Dadu Majra/Raipur Khurd with the latest technologies.
PSU oil marketing companies also provided the opportunity to open the oil stations in 2018. And now these companies invite applications and select through computerized draw of lots or bids process.
