A street vendor in Chandigarh has promised to give people free Chhole Bhature if they have successfully received their precautionary third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Sanjay Rana, a 45-year-old vendor, claimed that very few individuals who are eligible for the booster shot were showing up.
He is concerned about the public's smugness in getting their shots and claimed that few of those qualified for the booster shot are starting to come forward to receive it. That is why he started offering free Chhole Bhature. Sanjay has been running this stall since the last 15 years.
Mr.Rana had also received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year for providing free Chhole Bhature to people who received the COVID-19 vaccination. He said that his daughter Ridhhima and niece Riya had inspired him last year to provide free Chhole Bhature to those who got vaccinated. He is grateful for the mention he got in the Prime Minister's "Mann Ki Baat".
Doctors recommended a third booster or precautionary dose to enhance the immunity and keep the disease at bay. In response to the slow uptake of booster doses, the government has announced a campaign to provide free precaution doses to anyone over the age of 18. Citizens have also taken the matter into their own hands in order to encourage people to come forward and take the booster dose.
