Election Buzz:The dates for the PUCSC elections will be announced soon.
The PUCSC elections are all set to take place in the first or second week of September, most probably between September 5th and September 9th. The PU administration has sent a letter to the UT administration requesting a date. It should be noted that the PU administration seeks security assistance from the UT administration for these days, which is why a letter has been sent for the same.
After the admission process for the session finishes by August 31st, there will be around 10 days provided for campaigning and preparation, followed by the elections.
However, last year's elections were held after a two-year gap on October 18th. Regular meetings are being held by PU authorities to discuss security-related issues for the upcoming elections. Currently, preparations for Independence Day are ongoing, after which the focus will shift to the PUCSC elections.
Colleges are also requesting PU authorities and the UT administration to announce the election dates. A few days ago, a fight occurred between two rival parties in GGDSD, leading the college to request an early announcement of the election date to prevent any disruption to the college's functioning. The entry of outsiders has also been restricted in the colleges.
PUCSC elections are no less than a festival for the university and colleges. Parties have already started announcing their candidates for various positions.
