College teacher Tarun Ghai and RTI activist RK Singla have expressed dismay over comments made during a recent Panjab University syndicate meeting regarding their access to the campus. As per information, one of the Syndicate member proposed restricting Ghai's entry due to his lack of affiliation with PU, while suggesting written notices for RTI activists like Singla, insinuating undue influence.
PU's vice-chancellor tasked Dean Sanjay Kaushik with addressing the matter, with no official decision communicated yet. Ghai and Singla question the legality of such remarks, noting the absence of provisions for entry bans in PU's academic calendar. They've appealed to the chancellor for an investigation, deeming the situation defamatory.
RK singla in a letter to chancellor raised various questions over this behaviour of Panjab University administration.
