Chandigarh to organize a special drive to check fake GST registrations

To check fake GST registrations Excise and Taxation Department of Chandigarh is going to organise a special two month long campaign from May to June.

Strict actions will be taken against individuals and companies involved in fraudulent registration and billing. The taxation department has made it mandatory for all the shopkeepers to put up boards with GST numbers outside their premises. This drive is being carried out on the instructions of the Centre.

According to sources , Officers will be specially deputed for the drive for better coordination and focus will be on appropriate action. Official records will be verified with physical examination.

This drive isn't limited to the City Beautiful alone but organised all over India by the taxation department in order to check fraudulent GST registrations.
