Chandigarh to get India's first Air Force Heritage Museum; will open doors on 31st January


The centre is set up at the Government Press Building in Sector 18 and will be open for the general public from 31st January 2022. Rajnath Singh to inaugurate the same on 31st. The inauguration event will also be attended by the Chief Of Air Staff Vivek Ram Chaudhari.


According to a senior official, the centre will be officially handed over to the UT Administration on 31st January itself.

The aim is to motivate the youth to join the armed forces and ignite a sense of patriotism.


Some attractions among the many at the centre will be the aircrafts and weapons on display and a sovereign shop. The Government Press building, built in 1953, was designed by Edwin Maxwell Fry, an English architect and was well ahead of the time.
