Chandigarh Railway Station is soon going to provide amenities of airports, a contract of redesigning given to M/s Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Pvt Ltd. The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has given this project to refurbish railway station through EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) model with a budget of Rs 462 crore.
In this project extra facilities are to be provided to passengers like construction of two cutting-edge foot-over bridges (FOBs) and a 72-meter-wide roof plaza with good food offerings for a comfortable experience.
But on the other hand, President of Chandigarh Youth Congress Manoj Lubana and his team is on a hunger strike against the railways association for the paid pick and drop services at railway station. The protest started on November 28 but still no action was taken by railway authorities.
