Arijit Singh fans disheartened as Chandigarh concert denied by Police due to parking woes
Arijit Singh's upcoming concert in Chandigarh has hit a roadblock, leaving his fans disappointed. The Chandigarh Police have put their foot down, refusing permission for the event scheduled for November 4 due to Inadequate parking arrangements at the Exhibition Ground in Sector 34, the proposed venue.
The police highlighted the absence of a comprehensive parking blueprint for the anticipated rush of more than 5,000 cars. A written communication has been sent to the Chandigarh deputy commissioner, cementing the denial of permission. Even though the organisers sold more than 7,000 tickets, with prices ranging from ₹1,800 to ₹2 lakh, the authorities stood firm in their decision.
A senior police officer said the organisers didn't think about parking when they booked the place. the organisers had proposed a shuttle service, but the lack of a concrete proposal with the Chandigarh Police thwarted their efforts. The police suggested moving the concert to December because the parking spots were already taken by other events. The police officer explained that they couldn't fit 5,000 cars without more parking, or else the city would get too crowded.
This issue with Arijit Singh's concert highlights the need for better planning and coordination in Chandigarh. It serves as a lesson in the importance of careful logistical arrangements for successful events, leaving fans hoping for a smooth rescheduling in the future.
