In memory of Heerakshi, Carmel Convent School builts a park
On 8th July this year, a 10th grade student of Carmel Convent School in Sector 9, died when a 70-feet peepal tree, declared a `heritage tree’ , fell on her and other students while they were playing on the campus. The school administration, in memory of Heerashi, have made a park in the campus.
The park is built at the site of the unfortunate accident. They have built a monument with their beloved student’s name on it with a message ,'always in our hearts and prayers'. This park also contains an open theatre-stage surrounded by beautiful flowers.
The school administration inaugurated the park in a simple ceremony in the presence of Matama Gandhi’s granddaughter Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee. They are also planning to provide scholarships and awards in her name and memory.
