Pelé was suffering from colon cancer for a while. He had a surgery to remove it in September last year. The former Brazilian footballer was admitted to the hospital for revaluation of the cancer treatment but later was diagnosed with a respiratory infection.
The news of his demise was confirmed by his daughter on Instagram late on Thursday night.
Pelé, Edson Arantes do Nascimento was regarded as the one of greatest footballers of all time. He was distinguished with 3 world Cup trophies, 6 times lifting Brazilian league title, twice winning the Copa libertadores and twice in Intercontinental Cup titles in 1962 and 1963.
This news is a shock for his family and fans worldwide.
