BJP defeats congress in Assembly election by winning in 4 out of 5 states

The Modi effect has shown its power as the BJP emerges victorious in the Assembly Polls 2022 in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Goa. The CM of UP Yogi Adityanath is all set to become the CM of UP for the second consecutive term, breaking the jinx of BJP not re-electing in Uttar Pradesh, India’s most vital state politically, where BJP won the majority of seats and took an unassailable lead of 254 seats out of 403.

Similarly, for the first time in the history of Uttarakhand, a State Government has been re-elected. BJP was already there in power when the elections began, and now it seems that the Party would stay in power for the next 5 years. The party there won 47 out of 70 seats.

The results of the elections in the states of Goa and Manipur also followed the similar trend, indicating the reach of the Saffron Wave. In 2017, BJP was the second largest party, but now in 2022, it is inching towards to being the majority party in the last 10 years. Meanwhile in Manipur, the current CM N Biren Singh, emerged as the victorious one, contesting from Heingang seat. This is a sign of BJP strengthening its position in estranged North-Eastern states.

However as per expectations, BJP could not cast its effect on people of Punjab but this kinda result in all four othe states proved BJP the largest National party once again.

Among all this, the Indian National Congress (INC) had to return empty handed as it failed to cast any charm on the voters and it seems that Congress is moving to the depletion line very soon.
