Panjab University, Chandigarh has recently witnessed many theft cases. Earlier, cases were suspected where thieves broke the glass pane of cars and stole the necessary items. Theft case in the newly built Girls Hostel 11 is also not so old. But it seems that the prime target for the thieves is the Dental department's parking.
A few days ago, 2-3 bicycles were stolen from the parking. Today, the batteries from a motor cycle became a target.
Students expected that the University Administration will be alert and get some CCTV cameras installed in nearby areas but no security step has been taken so far.
On one hand, the frequency of the cases are worrying students and faculty of BDS, while on the other hand the silence is making the way for thieves more clear.
PU Pulse urges the student council and authorities to look into this matter asap.
