Based on the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) 2020, Chandigarh ranks lower than Bihar in Emerging

Based on the implementation of BRAP 2020, an assessment report was released on Thursday by Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman. The report put the states into categories i.e., Top Achievers, Achievers, Aspirers and the Emerging Business Ecosystems. Punjab and Haryana, along with five other states, were listed as best performers.

Despite Punjab and Haryana making it to the top Achievers category, Chandigarh has ranked in 29th place in ease of doing business, which has remained unchanged for the past few years. According to the rankings, Chandigarh lags behind Bihar in the emerging business category.

It's a matter of great concern and came out as a shock to many, except Chandigarh Industrialists who are not the least bit astonished. According to them, administration authorities never pay attention to the manufacturing industries. Instead, they put more of an emphasis on keeping the history and heritage of the city flourished.
