Paying homage to those who endured the hardships of partition and the anguish of displacement, we're reminded that India's independence from British rule on August 15, 1947. As we honor the selflessness and resilience of our citizens, we mark the 14th of August as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.
The memories of partition when countless individuals were forced to abandon their homes and lives, victims of unjust hostility and brutality. This day prompts us to contemplate the distressing experiences of partition and fervently pursue the unity and solidarity of our society and nation.
Moreover, in the aftermath of the tragic confrontations in the Galwan Valley, the Indian Air Force (IAF) rapidly executed the transportation of over 68,000 Army soldiers, close to 90 tanks, and a range of weapon systems to eastern Ladakh from various parts of the country.
Demonstrating its strategic airlift prowess, the IAF deployed Su-30 MKI and Jaguar jets for constant surveillance and intelligence gathering. Employing an "offensive posturing" strategy, the IAF showcased its rapid response to the grave conflict. The IAF's transport fleet emerged as a crucial point in the swift deployment of troops and equipment to challenging locations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), underscoring the force's enhanced strategic airlift capabilities.
This complex operation encompassed several divisions of the Indian Army, highlighting the IAF's unwavering commitment to fortifying national security. Simultaneously, the IAF fortified its air defense capabilities and combat readiness along the LAC, through the deployment of advanced radars and surface-to-air guided weapons at frontline bases in the region.
